3 September 2011 - In relation to the latest casualty involving a fellow-Malaysian in Somalia, MERCY Malaysia would like to inform everyone that the three members of our assessment team who left for Somalia on 25 August 2011 are safe.
"We receive updates everyday from our assessment team and we are working closely with Muslim Aid, our partner in Somalia," said Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Faizal Mohd Perdaus, President of MERCY Malaysia.
The three members consist of MERCY Malaysia Vice President I, Assoc Prof Dr Mohamed Ikram Mohamed Salleh; Head of Relief Operations, Mr. Hew Cheong Yew and 27-year-old Somali volunteer student, Mr. Yasir Mohamed Ahmed-Baffo.
MERCY Malaysia would like to extend our condolences to the family of Noramfaizul Mohd Nor and we pray for the speedy recovery of Aji Saregar Mazlan.
