Hadi Salleh launched a charity art exhibition at the Pelita Hati House of Art in Bangsar. 40% proceed from the sales will be donated to MERCY Malaysia. This exhibition is a two-week event where the public is welcomed to view and purchase the artwork from Monday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm. Exhibition is from 29 March to 15 April 2006.

With 16 years of experience in the visual art scene, ‘Journey’ is Hadi Salleh’s first solo exhibition, whereby about 60 pieces of his painting from three (3) different series; Dancing, Landscapes and Collage are exhibited.

The charity art exhibition stems of the artist’s desire to contribute to the society as he feels that art is not a mere fulfilment of one person’s desire and passion, but it must also be for the community. A total of 40% proceeds from the sales of the artwork at the exhibition will be donated to MERCY Malaysia.

With no limit to Hadi Salleh’s generosity, the artist himself has specially selected a painting to be placed on an open auction. The painting is entitled ‘White Orchid’ ‘Year 2005’ (view ‘White Orchid’ ‘Year 2005’) and the starting bid is at RM 8, 000. Full proceed from sale of ‘White Orchid’ ‘Year 2005’ will be donated to MERCY Malaysia. Bidding will close on 15 April 2006.

The event was launched by Datin Seri Tiara Jacquelina, as the Guest-of-Honour together with Datuk Dr. Jemilah Mahmood, President of MERCY Malaysia at the Pelita Hati House of Art in Bangsar on Thursday, 30 March 2006.
