In response to the current haze problem in Malaysia, MERCY distributed 4,145 face masks to the public on Monday, 9 October 2006.

Ten student volunteers from the International Islamic University gave out these masks at Ampang Park LRT Putra Station, KLCC LRT Putra Station and KL Sentral. Another 800 face masks were distributed to six orphanages and one elderly home in the Klang Valley area.
