MERCY Malaysia Is Ready To Deploy Rapid Assessment Team to Assess Philippines Mudslide Disaster Situation.

Thousands missing as mudslide swept through the village of Guinsahugon village near the town of St. Bernand on Leyte Island, Eastern Phillippines on Friday, 17 February 2006 at 9.00 am local time.MERCY Malaysia is on standby to deploy its rapid assessment team (RAT) to access the situation.

“We are currently making arrangement on the deployment to the disaster stricken area and we will be deploying our RAT members with the next flight available” commented Shareen Shariza Dato’ Abdul Ghani, Chief Operating Officer of MERCY Malaysia.
