MERCY Malaysia Sends Aid To Kedah |

MERCY Malaysia had sent its relief mission in response to the flood that hit the northern part of Malaysia.

MERCY Malaysia began sending aid to the people affected by the flood since Tuesday, 20 December 2005 to two (2) relocation centres at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Tinggi and Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Baru Darul Aman in Jitra.
“We distributed aid to more than 2,000 people who are affected by the recent flood. Some of the items are basic food supply such as rice, eggs, cooking oil, sugar and salt as well as water and blankets for now. We are also planning to distribute hygiene packs in the near future” commented Shareen Shariza Dato’ Abdul Ghani, Chief Operation Officer of MERCY Malaysia.
MERCY Malaysia also collaborated with PETRONAS through its subsidiary in Gurun, Kedah who provided volunteers, food supply as well as transportation and telecommunication facilities for this flood relief mission.
Currently, MERCY Malaysia has spent more than RM12, 000 in providing the mentioned items to the beneficiaries and the relief mission was mobilised through its northern chapter with the help from its volunteers, led by Mejar Ret. Anuar Bin Abdul Hamid.
