On Sunday, May 18, a volunteer MERCY medical team, comprising five doctors, three nurses, two pharmacists, four medical students and four MERCY officers, made its monthly trip to Klang to offer primary health care to Rohingya refugees. On that day, 79 patients were treated. The ailments found included back and body aches, fever, headaches, dizziness, and rashes. Six patients were issued hospital referral letters. The clinic was observed by H.E. Dana Huňátová, Ambassador of the Czech Republic, and Dr. Ahmed Faizal Perdaus, MERCY EXCO member. The Czech Republic has been funding this project since July 2007 to the tune of RM 79,000/year and as of now, available funds will allow MERCY to continue until March 2009.
