Tuesday, 25 July 2006
Kuala Lumpur, Tuesday 25 July 2006 – The rising conflict in Lebanon, the West Bank and Gaza as well as Israel has created a humanitarian disaster with hundreds of thousands of people displaced from their homes. Many more are without access to basic medical facilities and services and the number of civilians killed and injured in all three locations is increasing at an alarming rate.

  • MERCY Malaysia implores all parties to cease the bombings and violence immediately and urges all parties to seek a peaceful resolve• MERCY Malaysia condemns the killing of innocent women and urges all parties of the conflict to protect the lives of civilians in accordance with the International Humanitarian Law.
  • MERCY Malaysia urges the international community to advocate and ensure that humanitarian access to those in need is secured urgently.
