MERCY Malaysia Hands Over Relief Efforts In Indonesia To Local Partner PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 14 February 2007
Kuala Lumpur, 14 February 2007 – In line with a directive from Indonesia’s Ministry of Health to all international NGOs currently working in the country, MERCY Malaysia announced today that it is closing its medical and humanitarian relief operations in Jakarta. Indonesian authorities have communicated their capabilities in coping internally with the crisis, and therefore do not need additional international assistance anymore. As a result, MERCY Malaysia is now in the midst of handing over its operations that include the passing on of medical supplies and hygiene kits to their local partner organization, MER-C Indonesia.
