The School Preparedness Programme will make sure that schools and students are prepared and equipped with the knowledge to respond effectively to a disaster by:

• Forming student Task Forces to undertake key roles in the event of a disaster in the school.
• Educating the Task Forces in disaster risk reduction and safety.
• Conducting an evacuation drill so the whole school knows how to respond to a disaster and so the student Task Forces can practice their skills.

We plan to pilot the School Response Preparedness programme soon.
