Aim
  • To prepare volunteers for MERCY Malaysia’s medical and humanitarian relief mission.

Objectives
  • Develop committed relief workers within MERCY Malaysia’s pool of volunteers
  • Promote understanding of relief work, MERCY Malaysia’s operations and volunteer roles and responsibilities
  • Promote the International Code of Conduct and SPHERE, best practices and international standards to MERCY Malaysia volunteers
  • Develop basic survival skills and knowledge, that can be applied specifically on a MERCY Malaysia mission or as general knowledge
  • Build up mental strength and commitment when going on relief mission to any disaster area
  • Promote team spirit and leadership quality under trying conditions

Format
  • Class room setting, case study, discussion and simulation exercises.
