Aim
- To prepare volunteers for MERCY Malaysia’s medical and humanitarian relief mission.
Objectives
- Develop committed relief workers within MERCY Malaysia’s pool of volunteers
- Promote understanding of relief work, MERCY Malaysia’s operations and volunteer roles and responsibilities
- Promote the International Code of Conduct and SPHERE, best practices and international standards to MERCY Malaysia volunteers
- Develop
basic survival skills and knowledge, that can be applied specifically
on a MERCY Malaysia mission or as general knowledge
- Build up mental strength and commitment when going on relief mission to any disaster area
- Promote team spirit and leadership quality under trying conditions
