- To inculcate the true spirit of volunteerism and professionalism among participants.
- To provide a brief background of MERCY’s medical and humanitarian aid and relief programmes.
- To obtain feedback from volunteers about their expectations and concerns.
- To develop a compassionate and professional team of volunteers.

- The meaning of ‘volunteerism’ vs ‘professionalism’
- Organisational’s Responsibility and Expectations to Volunteers
- International Code of Conduct
- International Humanitarian Law
- Introduction to Sphere
- Introduction to Disaster and Myth about Disaster
- Total Disaster Relief Management (TDRM)Sharing session with core volunteers/past mission members
