TUMPAT, KELANTAN, OCTOBER 17, 2015 – MERCY Malaysia in collaboration with AirAsia Foundation launched the School Preparedness Programme in Kelantan today. The School Preparedness Programme, run by MERCY Malaysia’s Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) department, is funded by AirAsia Foundation through a donation of RM335,000 to address needs of at-risk areas in Kelantan and Perak.

MERCY MALAYSIA TO HOLD 16TH ANNUAL FUNDRAISING DINNER 2015

“Planning for Tomorrow, Today” to promote disaster preparedness
Kuala Lumpur, 1st October 2015 – MERCY Malaysia will be holding its Annual Fundraising Dinner on 16th October 2015 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel, Kuala Lumpur to raise funds for its humanitarian efforts. Coinciding with the International Day for Disaster Reduction on 13th October, this year’s theme of “Planning for Tomorrow, Today” advocates the importance of disaster preparedness.

Tables for MERCY Malaysia’s Annual Fundraising Dinner 2015 are priced from RM5,000 to RM50,000. Reservations can be made by emailing rsvp@mercy.org.my or contacting Ms Suhaili Hassan/Ms Norimalina Kamarudin at 03-2142 2007 ext 252/253.

MERCY Malaysia Provides Medical Aid to the Flood Affected Communities in Myanmar

KUALA LUMPUR, AUGUST 18, 2015 – Four western regions of Myanmar have been declared a state of emergency due to heavy floods, caused by monsoon rains and worsened by Cyclone Komen on August 1. As of August 13, the Natural Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) reports that over 1,350,000 people have been severely affected by floods and landslides in July and August.
